On timeout event in TC 8.70

Hi,



I'm experiencing an issue with this OnTimeout event. If timeout of a test item expires while my script is inside a 'while' statement, the script never gets out of that while statement (I have a condition that is never met). If I stop the script manually, I can see in log that the timeout has expired for that test item. How is this event working? I tried also on a TC 9 trial version, and it seems to work ok. For some reason we cannot use TC 9 for our tests at the moment so I'm stuck with the described behavior?



How can I make my script exit that 'while' loop it the timeout period expires? Is there any trick? Am I doing something wrong?

    The OnTimeout event should work exactly as it's specified in the "OnTimeout Event" help topic. If the TestComplete 8 behavior differs from it, this may be a problem in the product. I'm not sure whether there is a patch for this issue in TC 8 - you may contact our Support team to learn this. Anyway, I'd suggest that you move your projects to the latest product version - v. 9.10.
