Object.create method not supported in Test Complete Javascript engine

I would really like to use the Object.create method to clone an object in my test scripts but it is not supported in the current Javascript engine used by Test Complete. Has anyone else had this issue and can you suggest a good alternative. I did see some code examples on Stack Overflow but my preference would be to not have to add more code to my library to do this. I know there is another thread for this subject but why hasn't SmartBear updated the Javascript engine in TC?
