I cannot reproduce the problem. Maybe you did some other actions, not only enabling Extended Find and moving the object to the upper hierarchy level. And now, TestComplete cannot find the correspondence between the alias and the mapped object. To check this, find the alias in the Aliases tree of the NameMapping editor manually, right-click the alias in the tree and select Find Mapped Object from the context menu. TestComplete should highlight the mapped object name the selected alias is assigned to in the Mapped Objects tree.
Please try to reproduce your problem again and specify the exact steps so that I could do the same. Also, please send us a screenshot of the NameMapping editor.
