This behavior is correct as the TestComplete trial version is a
Node-Locked license for running 1 TestComplete instance on a single computer. Visit the

So, when you activated the trial version on the first machine, the license got bound to this machine. That's why, TestComplete didn't allow activating it with the same key on another machine.

If you decide to purchase a
Node-Locked license, yes, you need to buy a license for each machine that will be used to run TestComplete tests.
If you decide to purchase a
Floating User license, you just need to buy a license for the needed number of TestComplete instances, and then you can run scripts on any machine where TestComplete is installed, under conditions that the total number of running instances doesn't exceed the number of the instances allowed by your license.
