Issues Recording on application that is an executable that calls another executable

We have a .NET WPF application where a login screen is launched via one executable.  We register the login executable with TestComplete and can record the login operation.  The problem, however, is that the executable launches another executable that represents the main application.  Unfortunately, TestComplete does not record actions in that 2nd executable (main application).  We tried registering the 2nd one in project properties but that had no effect other than putting that 2nd executable in the drop-down on the recording tool bar where we can launch it manually (but we can't launch it manually, it's launched automatically).



The workaround was to un-check 'record only on our test application' in the project properties, but we really want to confine recording to just this application.



What is the best solution here?
