Is TC10 Compatible with Delphi XE10?

Is TC10 Compatible with Delphi XE10? We were using Delphi XE5 with TC10, and our tests were running. Once we switched to XE10 with TC10, all the object names in our tests changed.    Do I have to s...

    Hi Heidi,

     

    According to the Testing Delphi Applications - Overview ( http://smartbear.com/viewarticle/68770/ ) article, we support Deplhi 10 since TestComplete 11.2. So, I recommend that you consider updating to this product version (or to the latest TestComplete 11 minor update - 11.3).

Hi Tanya,

 

We've been using release config for using Delphi XE5 and TC10.

 

I just want to confirm... does TC 11 require Delphi XE10 Seattle applications to be built in debug configuration, or does TC11.3 support Delphi XE10 Seattle applications built in release config?

 

I read https://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/68770/ & https://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/73596/, but I'm still confused because it seems like conflicting information.

    Hi Heidi,

     

    Delphi 10 apps should be compiled with debug information so that TestComplete can see all objects. Please refer to the Compiling Delphi XE6, XE7, XE8 and 10 Applications With Debug Information ( http://smartbear.com/viewarticle/73596/ ) article for details.

     

    If you don’t want to include debug information to your build, you can consider using the StripTDS utility that extracts debug data from the executable file of your app.
