Hi Mobile Testers,
Many of you have already tried testing Android applications via TestComplete (more info). Lucky owners of iOS devices now can also check how TestComplete works with iOS applications.
Meet iOS Testing in TestComplete 10!
TestComplete now lets you test iOS applications run on iPhones, iPads (including iPad mini). Supported iOS versions: 6.x, 7.0 - 7.0.x
WHAT’S NEW
With TestComplete, you can create and run tests over iOS applications by performing the following:
· Simulate touches and long touches of application objects.
· Simulate swipes.
· Input text.
· Deploy applications to and run them on devices.
· Verify objects and their properties.
· Test iOS controls.
INITIAL STEPS
To get started with testing iOS applications is easy. Only several additional steps are required to be done before testing. They help TestComplete recognize test objects inside the tested app properly. So, pay attention to them:
1. Make sure that mobile TestComplete plug-ins are installed and available in TestComplete (more info).
2. Prepare your iOS application using information from this article.
3. Connect your device with a computer via a USB cable.
4. Deploy the application to the device and start it there (this process can be automated).
Now, you can create and execute iOS tests – learn this step-by-step instruction that helps you with this.
HOW TO TRY
If you have the license for TestComplete’s Mobile module, you need to update to TestComplete 10.10.
If you do not have the Mobile module license, you can contact us at sales@automatedqa.com and request the trial license to evaluate this feature.
