How to work with TVirtualStringTree

Thanks, HKosova! I had forgotten that thread.

As noted in that thread between katepaulk and myself, the TVirtualStringTree version that we had to work with in our Delphi environment behaved differently than what the OP had mentioned, but we managed still to be able to manipulate it within our needed functionality.  Hopefully that item helps you, r_ahmakov
