Just replying to initial post. The originator is a member of the test team.
This is not an issue with the TestComplete tool.
It is a restriction within our framework where we use excel files for our input which calls functions in test complete.

What exactly are you trying to do?
What steps did you try?
What happened when you did that?
Currently we have restriction between .sj file and excel file both should match otherwise it will not execute. Iam not sure whether is there any requirement from test complete site to match both. but if we want to execute the script if .sj file name and excel file not matches then script is falling
