How to record EXT.NET controls IDs ?

Hi, I have TC trial version 10.40 installed on W7 32b and I am trying to record a short test of EXT.NET application in different browsers without any success. TC is still recording UI actions with absolute coordinates in window control. I have installed and enabled literally all extensions in Web group, Tree model set to Tree in Open Apps / Web testing / General setting, Object Identification set to ID with Sencha ExtJS being top-priority.

Is TestComplete capable of recording Ext.NET control IDs (or tags, classnames)?

Thank you for help.

  • Hi Pavol,

Ext.NET object identification works fine for me using the following:

    http://examples.ext.net

    TestComplete 10.50

    Internet Explorer 11

You may need to configure your browser as explained here:

    Preparing Web Browsers

Also, try the the latest version of TestComplete - 10.50.

  • Hi Helena, thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, Object Spy in TC 10.40 is not able to identify the very same control which you tried out. Since I'm using trial version to evaluate capabilities of TestComplete, it really doesn't make sense for me to upgrade to 10.50 that is available to customers only.

  • Looks like you're using Firefox 34. You need TestComplete 10.50 to work with it. Please request the TestComplete trial once again to get the new version.

Or if you want to continue using TestComplete 10.40, you'll need to downgrade to Firefox 32 and disable autoupdate in Firefox. This is because previous versions of TestComplete don't support the latest Firefox versions.
