How to move license from local machine to License Manager PC

Hello,

I need to move TestComplete 9 license from my local machine to License Manager PC where floating license is installed. As I don't have License manager installed in my local machine, After searching in TC site, I came up with conclusion that I need to uninstall TC 9 on my machine.

I do want to keep my current scripts/name mapping files on my machine if in case I need to uninstall TC 9. What's the best way to move license to License manager PC without hurting my current scripts?

Note: I have both TC 8 & 9 installed on local machine which I would like to keep since I am still migrating my scripts to TC 9.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Meha

  • Hi,

You don't need to uninstall TC, you just need to deactivate your license. See the first step in License Moving Procedure.

Once you complete step #1, install the license manager on another machine and activate your license there (step #3).

As for your scripts, they have nothing to do with licenses or your current TC's installations. Projects are not a part of TC, they're kept on your HDD, and they don't get deleted if you uninstall TC.
