I haven't worked with these components. So, I cannot tell you for sure what approach you need to use. 


I guess it's possible to automate some operations using native methods and properties of controls under test. Also, you can try using supplementary object identification methods such as Microsoft Active Accessibility (MSAA), UI Automation, or Text Recognition. See the following articles for details:
