I've heard that this issue may be related to some settings in the registry. Please check whether the KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem\ NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation is set to 1 on your computer. Is it possible to change these secure settings?
