DEFECT in TC 9.30 - Extended Find cannot be enabled from the Namemapping

Extended find checkbox cannot be cheked from the namemapping directly.



One has to open the object and then check the checkbox "Find this node on any level of Namemapping tree"

    Hi Lars and Others,


     


    I see that this behavior was changed in TestComplete 9.31. Now, it's possible to check the Extended Find option right in the NameMapping editor (as this used to be done).

    Yup, I wonder what happened to that, I really liked and used a lot that functionality...

    Yes. the same. why is the checkbox there if u can't check it? Would be good to have it back.

    I noticed this too. I'm not sure if it's a bug or you now have to activate the feature as you describe

    I've consulted with our R&D team regarding this - they confirmed that this was changed in TestComplete 9.30!


    If you feel that this new behavior is inconvenient for you, let me know - I'll be monitoring your requests. It depends on your opinions, our developers may return the previous behavior!

    Greetings,



    Support wrote me back about this and the solution would be to "disable the "Tools | Options... | Engines | Name Mapping | Use extended find when possible".



    This issue triggered us to rollback to 9.2 and I haven't had time to try the solution.
