Cross-Browser Testing with VMware Player via VIX vmrun.exe
I would like to run corss-browser testing according to the Corss-Browser Testing E-book.pdf with VMware Player.
The configuration as below:
I have some image files (vmx files - virtual machine images) running via VMware Player which all located in a PC. I need to run test on these vmx files from TestComplete installed in the same PC.
The virtual machine images have installed TestExecute.
I have installed VIX API in the PC and the API runs vmrun.exe to control the virtual machines.
The issues are:
1. Can I use NetworkSuite to set up Hosts for the virtual machine images? How to setup the IP addresses and login modes?
2. If 1 is not available, how to play a virtual machine image via scripts( running vmrun.exe) or other ways to do it?
3. After successfully accessing the virtual machines( or play them via VMware player), how to add jobs to NetworkSuite or other ways to execute the test scripts on the virtual machines?
4. Can you provide a simple instruction similar to the above pdf file to guide me for the testing?
