Capture Buttons with TestComplete

Hello,

I have a web page where I click different buttons for a test. I set the ClientX and ClientY variables to the default value -1. When I click the run test button, evenything is ok and the buttons will be clicked on the page. If I changed the resolution, it works fine too.

My Problem is, when the test runs on another computer, the buttons will not be clicked. Is there any option which I have to set or something else? I don´t know how work with this.

    Hello Katrin,

My Problem is, when the test runs on another computer, the buttons will not be clicked.

Could you please specify what you mean by this? Does TestComplete post any error or warning messages to the test log? If it does, what are those error and warning messages? And what information is posted to the Additional Information panel of the test log?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

TestComplete throws no error, when clicking the button. It thinks that the click on the button was ok. On the picture, which Testcomplete creates, I can see that the button is not at the correct position for TestComplete (TC clicks in the red frame, like the attachment show). But on my computer the button is at the correct position. I don´t know how to resolve this problem.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello Katrin,

    Thank you for your reply.

If TestComplete posts no errors informing that it has failed to click the button, your issue might be a visualizer issue.

Could you please tell me what TestComplete version you are using? Can you reproduce the issue on the latest version of TestComplete (8.60)? If you don't have the latest TestComplete version, you can download a free trial version from here.

Also, could you please specify what web browsers you are using on both of your computers?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I use version 8.50.618.7. Have I to pay for updating my version to the full version of 8.60?

We are using Internet Explorer 9.

    Thank you.

    Hello Katrin,

You do not need to pay for updating your current version to the full version of TestComplete 8.60. The newer version will automatically use your registered product key.

If your issue persists on the latest version of TestComplete, could you please use the Contact Support Form to send your project and your application (or a sample application that demonstrates the problem) to our Support Team? This will help us analyze your problem faster.

    Thank you.
