Cannot Verify Task on Remote Computer

I am testing out TestComplete for my company. One of our requiredments is for the tests to be able to be ran on a remote machine.

I have TestExecute installed on the remote machine. This machine is being ran on Hyper-V and is Windows 8. I have made sure that all of the remote connection settings are correct and I am still getting the same error.

Verification Failed

(MyComputerName): Unable to create a user session on the remote computer.

I have remoted into the Hyper-V machine with RDC to make sure that my credentials were correct. Is there something else that could be causing this?

Thanks,

- Jessica

    Figured out this popular problem.

I am running a Hyper-V machine so this may be different for those of you who are not.

1.) First error I recieved was Verification Failed: Unable to create a user session on the remote computer.

My fix for this was odd and not intuitive AT ALL and I may have just gotten lucky. In your Hosts Tab on TestComplete, you will see a column that says Base Path. This folder was not created automatically for me on my remote machine. I actually had to go into my remote machine and create the folder and then select it from the browse menu on the Base Path column.

2.) I then was receiving the message Verification Failed: User is not logged onto remote machine.

Finally, a different error! My fix for this is kind of the same thing that I saw in another forum. You need to go to your local group policy editor - Computer Configuation -  Administrative templates - Windows Components - Remote Desktop Services - Remote Desktop Session Host - Connections -

Where it says Restrict Remote Desktop Services users to a single Remote Desktop Services session you may see Not configured or Disabled. ENABLE this and put in the Comments section "Yes"

After this my Verification was successful!
