Calling any URL throughout the script

BTW, a test recorded for one page probably won't work with another page (unless it is a bit different version of the original one). Different pages have different object hierarchies.



In your example, a script which works with Yahoo won't work with Hotmail. They are completely different.

I gave www.yahoo.com and www.hotmail.com links as an example, actually we are using an application for testing as intranet server for ex: http://server1/login.asp and http://server2/login.asp the objects and their properties are exactly same, the only difference is the URL... I hope the above code given by Robert might work...!!

Just replace the changing part of the URL with '*' in the line where you obtain the page object.

If you need to have a reference to the page object in your 'tester' routine, you need to:

1. Return it from your 'page' function.

2. Call the 'page' function in 'tester' before performing any actions, but after the TestedApps.iexplore.Run call and save its resulting value to a variable.

3. Use this variable (PageObj) in subsequent lines.
