ActieX project item - TC8.2

I don't understand this project item. The examples all use ActiveX app servers like Excel that provide full application functionality. Is there any benefit to setting project items for the controsl that are used in my application under test?



When I try to add an Active X project item for a control, I see a list of controls. I select one that we use. I don't see any properties or methods in the browser.



Can someone give me a 101 on what the usefulness of this project item is and how you may be using it? I hav read the help, and it is still as clear as mud.
