Resolving Shared-Components Error

I am using stoplight-studio 2.10.0, windows desktop version(free).
I would like to use the https://docs.stoplight.io/docs/platform/6b4a955df53df-shared-components Shared-Components feature in the documentation, but when I try to reference a Model I created I get an "Error fetching design library references" error.
Does this not occur after purchasing one of the subscriptions?
I got this error by following the steps below:
- create New Local Project (with tutorial files)
- select any Paths (example: /pets:GET)
- select Schema "pet.v1", and select "Components" tab
- show "Error fetching design library references" error
