Property Transfer based on a particular value.

You could try using groovyutils and xpath.

For example,

def groovyUtils = new com.eviware.soapui.support.GroovyUtils(context);
def holder = groovyUtils.getXmlHolder( "YOUR RESPONSE" );

def nodeValueStringArray = holder.getNodeValues("/GetMyResult/MyResult[ResultSource='ProductionSource']/ResultKey");

Loop through nodeValueStringArray and get your values for ResultKey.

One query on this!!! Is there a method in which i would be able to transfer the first value for the ResultKey to the Property at a TestSuite level?

Hi Vipin,

in this case case you could use a standard property-transfer teststep containing a transfer with the mentioned xpath as source from the corresponding response, and the desired testsuite-property as target.

Had tried that but the transfer was shown to be putting null value.
So just tried something similar to the one given below for setting the property at a TestSuite level. But unable to find what has to be provided at the place which is marked with "???" below:
Please help me out.

You need to set the correct namespace.

def groovyUtils = new com.eviware.soapui.support.GroovyUtils(context);
def holder = groovyUtils.getXmlHolder( "Test Request: login#Response" );
holder.namespaces["ns"] = "http://mytest.com/ns/MyResults";
def nodeValueStringArray = holder.getNodeValues("//ns:GetMyResult/ns:MyResult[ns:ResultSource='ProductionSource']/ns:ResultKey");

testRunner.testCase.testSuite.setPropertyValue( "MyResultKey", nodeValueStringArray[0]);

I was just thinking of this scenario where the value "ProductionSource" comes from Property Step. How would i be able to proceed on the same?

I'm new to SoapUI and need to evaluate some requirements as part of our Web Services Automation tool. I need something similar: on the following response:

      So need to loop thru the response (how do I do it?), search for Text 2004
      and return, via groovy, the value of the corresponding ServerItemId: 1002
     
      Can anyone help me please? or provide me with a link where I can find out
      more about how to do this, I'd really appreciate it
