maven skip test execution

Hi,
I have been using the soapui maven plugin eviware:maven-soapui-plugin:test to execute the test cases / test suite of a soapui project. However when using -Dmaven.test.skip=true in MAVEN_OPTS is not working. How do we skip the test phase when executing a maven build?
