Solved

failed to default sun.jnu.encoding=utf-8

SoapUI version 5.8.0

win10 on azure remote desktop

java

i want to make soapUI display thailand character.

i tried this

-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8
-Dsun.jnu.encoding=UTF-8
-Dnative.encoding=UTF-8

but system properties shows below:

in notepad++, thailand character display correctly under utf8 mode, it means my system can support thailand characters

when pasted to soapUI, it display as square

it works fine in 5.7.2 on my laptop both win10 & win11.

  • Hi miniwest

This looks more like a Java/SoapUI 5.8.0 font-rendering or encoding issue than a Windows UTF-8 support problem.

Since Thai characters work correctly in SoapUI 5.7.2 on the same OS,

please compare the bundled Java runtime and available fonts between 5.7.2 and 5.8.0, confirm SoapUI starts with -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8, and test with a Unicode font that supports Thai installed on the Azure desktop

    Hope this helps !!
