Hey thats great! Finally!
I guess the problem was that in hermesh.sh shell script it loads all the jars from its lib folder to LOCALCLASSPATH but if you check the hermesh.bat file it sets to CLASSPATH and when we run testrunner.sh it looks for the respective jars in SOAPUI_CLASSPATH. Hence in windows it is setting everything to CLASSPATH but for linux some jars to SOAPUI_CLASSPATH and some to LOCALCLASSPATH.
Due to this in windows everthing works fine but for linux we need to copy paste the jars or else tweak the hermes.sh to get it work.
I might be wrong!. what do you say on this?
Now we need to close the posting for this issue as we have found the solution
