Hey Robert,
I didn't have success
executing the application with "Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx" It
installed fine. Below are the steps I took:
uname -aLinux 2.6.32-23-generic #37-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jun 11 08:03:28 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
java -versionjava version "1.6.0_20"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_20-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 16.3-b01, mixed mode)
sudo update-java-alternatives -ljava-6-sun 63 /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun
sudo update-alternatives --config javaThere is only one alternative in link group java: /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/bin/java
Nothing to configure.
sudo /opt/eviware/loadUI-1.0-beta1/loadUI.shJava Web Start splash screen process exiting .....
Bad installation. No JRE found in configuration file: No such file or directory
I get a Java 6 splash which comes up for a few seconds and then disappears. I don't have this problem with the 32-bit version.
