License/manager question

I am the license manager for 6 licenses, and I always tell my colleagues to create a SmartBear account and give me their email, to which I attach that email to a license. I never had anyone come back with questions. 

Now I am documenting the process, and I do not see any way to create a "Smartbear Account". How are my licenses working? Do I just add the email as the only step now?
