Issues with scheduler

So I created a new project and started from scratch and suddenly, interval seems to be working as I would expect it too.
However, I am still not getting what I would expect from a Scheduler.
First, they look different from all tutorials - as interval did- (see screenshot). I am also having to assume that the "Duration" dial is calibrated to seconds. I have tried using it assuming calibration to seconds and minutes with no results that made sense.
Regardless, if I set it to a time, it never seems to kick off what it is attached too. I have tried connecting it to a Generator and VU Scenario, but it does not seem to start things going in either case.
