Is it possible to create custom teststeps in SOAP UI?

I know it is possible to create test steps that can be used for sending emails from a Test Case. I went through this blog:

But Is it possible to create a similar custom Test Step for reading data from Excel/ txt file in SOAP UI in the same way? Plase help me on what I should do

    I think you have answered for your self.

    But for your need, not sure if it is really required. It can be achieved using a groovy step, just search for it on the net.
