HTTP 401 Errors

I've downloaded the LoadUI application and upon using the Simple web load test, I am able to browse my site using the "Open in Browse" option in the Web Runner, but when the sim starts, all I see in the logs is HTTP error 401 return codes.... Are these false positives or is the test really not making its way into the site?

I do need NTLM authentication to browse the site but since the Browse Site feature worked, I figured I was all good.

"1301966091398","true","91","http://xxxxxxx.com","401","4431","5151907","http://xxxxxx.com"

Thanks

I misspoke about the setup.. if I follow the New project wizard and select run simple web test, input my site and let it run.. it seems to work fine (at least no 401 errors reported)

but if I create a new project, drag over a Fixed Rate Gen, a web page running with my web site in it and a table log for output, THAT's when I'll get the 401 errors shown in the logs above.

I'm at a loss to see the difference between what I created and what the starter web load test is doing.
  • Hi!

NTLM authentication is not yet supported by the Web Page Runner. We might very well add support for that in the near future though.

Note that the Failures counter on the Web Page Runner won't increase when you get a valid server response -- even if it's a 401 or 404 HTTP Client Error code.

In the meantime, you can use a soapUI Runner from loadUI, since soapUI supports NTLM (v1).

    Regards!
