Distributed Testing with loadUI

I am not able to get the loadUI agent to load inside a project. I am able to create it in the workspace, however, I am not able to see it in the project or VU Scenarios window. I have three terminals two Linux and one Windows, all running the loadUI agent shell script. I also created agents inside each of the terminals' workspace.
But, when I create an agent inside the machine running the project, the agent does not see the other agents inside its network.

What am I doing wrong? I looked all over the internet and safari books online for any formal or informal publication that may have instructions, but I couldn't find any.
The reason for the flames on the message is because I am working on a doctoral dissertation and am pressed for time.

Cheers!!

  • Hi!

I assume that you have read the Distribution section of the loadUI documentation?

Are you able to connect to an agent running on the same machine (as the loadUI main application)?

First of all thank you for you response. I go back and reread the parts on distributed testing. I was able to conduct several tests using a soapUI model of my own user behavior in the web, ran it through the soapUI Runner from loadUI and the user VU Generator with 10, 20, and 30 users settings and 20, and 30 requests per second. That worked fine.

However I now have a different problem. Every time after a tests (usually the next day after shutdown) when I tried to start loadUI, I get an error "Unable to Launch Application" on the screen. It forces me to uninstall the software and to reinstall it in order to be able to run any tests again. Is there something that I am not doing right? Am I missing a part of Java....maybe the right JDK version?

  • Have the same problem William - I find I have to re-boot Windows in order to run LoadUI the following day... Hopefully someone answers! With a work PC, it takes a good chuck of time to reboot every morning!

    Thanks,

I found a temporary solution...I reinstalled the java interface and it worked ok. It stopped giving me the previous error. I am also currently keeping the machines turned on in sleep mode to avoid
having to shut down the loadUI application. Once I get my test baseline established, I will try to shutdown and restart again to see if the application works or if it will give me the same error. For now, this temporary solution is working for me.
