Defect: The "API Navigator" doesn't remember that you hid it, and pushes Properties pane off screen

In Ready! API 1.4, the new API Navigator always re-opens every time you open Ready! API, even if you closed it.

This pane should remember it's settings between sessions.

The API Navigator also always pushes the Properties pane all the way to the bottom of the screen, hiding its contents.  Even after you hide the API Navigator, the Properties pane doesn't expand back up to it's full height--as it should.  Every time I open Ready! API, I now have to close the API Navigator then drag the properties pane back up again.

  • Hello kbw,

I’ve reported this issue to our Development team for the investigation.

Did I get it right that you hadn't seen this issue in earlier Ready! API versions?

Update: The behavior you described is expected. This is how it should work by design.

If you would like to change this behavior, I recommend that you create a feature improvement request here. It this requests gets many votes or feedback, our Dev Team could consider implementing it.

The API Nagivator pane is completely new in Ready! API 1.4, it didn't exist before.

OK, I see that none of those panes remember their view settings between sessions--they really should, but I'll agree with you that it should be logged as an enhancement for all panes to remember their view settings.  I'll log an enhancement idea for this.

However, I don't agree that the way this new pane completely pushes the properties pane all the way off the screen is by design, that is definitely a defect.

Please see the attached screenshot.  Every time we re-open Ready! API, we have to manually pull up the properties pane up again so that we can see and edit its contents.

Please pass this feedback to your Dev team.
