Changing load value for components from CommandLINE

Dear all,
For my previous request I am yet to receive any response and hence I am exploring running the test from the command line in linux.

I followed whatever is mentioned on the loadui website and needless to say it is helpful.
I was able to generate a report for a test which I ran only for 5 mins.

However MY BIGGEST doubt.

say if I have a variable load generator component in the project. After running the project from the command line how will I change the load value for this component.
i.e. if initial load value or TPS was 200 how can I change it to 400 TPS while the test is running. As mentioned test is running from the command line..

Please guide us.

    Hello All,
I am curious to know how can I change the rate and other properties for the component from the command line. Since I am not able to run load test from the GUI and monitor the result I am running it from command line.

But if we cannot change the component parameter from command line then where's lies the difference between JMETER and LOADUI.

Eventually it would mean in loadui I cannot change the load at run time which is the major drawback of the jmeter..

Can anyone let me know is there an option or way to change load at run time from command line...
  • Hi,

The command line runner is intended for running complete tests, which require no interaction once started. Generally it is used for test automation, such as scheduled tests that run periodically. If interaction is required the standard loadUI graphical application should be used.

If you wish to have a test where at as specific time the load is changed, you can either use one of the included VU Generator components, such as the Ramp Sequence component, or using a Scheduler to start and stop VU Generators at specific times, or by creating a custom VU Generator which acts as you want it to.

    Thanks for the reply.

However it does not solve my issue.
My post which says LoadUI respond extremely slowly on the machine is yet to receive an answer...
I have also posted the properties of LoadUI as asked by one of the admin and still I am awaiting a response.

Perhaps if that problem is solved I dont have to use command line at all which to say the least I am not very happy to use...

I would love to use GUI based interface but the application is performing so slowly that it is not at all possible to work on the GUI..Also the screen freezes after 4-5 hours which is unimaginable..

May be admin on the site can help me with these two issues which are already posted on the forum under different topics....
  • Hi,

We are aware of your other issue, and are looking into it. Until that issue is resolved, I don't think you will be able to use the command line runner as a full replacement, it was never intended as such.
