What are skipped and Error fields in ApacheANT/Junit reporting?

I have generated HTML test execution reportes using ApacheANT and Junit.  in reports always i'm getting values for "success"  and "failure" fields only. I wanted to know what are the "skipped" and "Error " fields on junit reports?  How to get values for those fields?
