Socket Timeout not causing an error?

I'm doing some testing with SoapUI and have set the Socket Timeout in the soapUI Preferences to be 4000 milliseconds.  I run the tests and see maximum times well over 4 seconds (189 seconds was the largest listed time for a request) but I do not see any errors listed in the 'err' column.  Is there something I'm missing here?  If the socket times out, shouldn't that be an error and be recorded as such?

For background information I'm running soapUI 2.5.1 from boxes running RedHat Enterprise.  I'm seeing the same symptom on all machines.
