How does Jira Connector handle syncing attachments? Is this allowed for any file/image format?

We noticed we could sync an image file FROM Jira TO  QAComplete, but it would error syncing FROM QAComplete TO Jira. Are attachments supported for syncing?

If so, how should mapping be set up in the connector? We found the fields to map, but the type we were not sure what to select.

Thank you

  • Hi,

    QAC - Jira Connector provides a possibility to synchronize attachments. If you attach a file to an item in a source system, the service will copy the attachment to the appropriate item in the target system. But, if a QAC item is opened for editing in QAC, it is skipped from the synchronization. So, avoid editing items in QAC during synchronization with Jira.

    By default, QAC supports basic file types such as .pdf, .doc, .txt, .csv, .png., .zip. We cannot provide you with any guarantee for other types.

    To find out the cause of the issue you can check Jira logs for corresponding items.

    Also, we recommend that you:

    - update a QAC - Jira Connector to the latest version;

    - avoid one-to-many sync scenarios. One one-to-one (one Jira project to one QAC project) scenario is currently supported for both-ways sync;

    - check the Max size of attachment (Kb) value for a profile. For the JIRAConnector the default attachment value is 2048 Kb and the limit is 30 Mb. This can be adjusted at the "Settings" tab within your JIRAConnector Synchronization Profile.
