HTTP 401 on Secure Web Site Monitor? Try Using AUTHENTICATE PRE-EMPTIVELY
Customers can experience HTTP 401 from the Secure Web Site API monitor, even if their API runs fine from a third-party API testing tool. One way to try to clear this error with the Secure Web Site API monitor is to use the following settings in the Request Authentication in the Secure Web Site API:
Basic Authorization
USER ID
PASSWORD
AUTHENTICATE PRE-EMPTIVELY - CHECK THIS BOX
This will create an Authentication header that gets sent in the original first request, which results in a 200 OK from the server (and not HTTP 401).
