About the Community Champions Program
The Community Champions Program recognizes some of the most knowledgeable, helpful and engaged members of the SmartBear Community. Champions are people who consistently share useful answers, practical experience and technical knowledge that helps other community members to get more from SmartBear products. The program is also a way for SmartBear to build closer relationships with those contributors - creating opportunities to share feedback, join discussions with our teams, take part in selected activities, and help us improve the community experience over time. Level What it recognizes Benefits Level 1 A strong start as a Champion and consistent, helpful participation. A Champion badge and community recognition A Champion welcome pack Access to Champion Office Hours Early access to selected community activities Level 2 Continued contribution and a growing role in the community. Everything in Level 1, plus: Invitations to Champion feedback sessions Community Spotlight recognition Additional community permissions where appropriate Level 3 Sustained contribution, trusted expertise and deeper involvement with the community. Everything in Level 2, plus: Opportunities to meet directly with Product Managers Recognition across the wider SmartBear community Opportunities to contribute to blogs, events and advocacy activities How Members Become Community Champions Community Champions are invited by the SmartBear Community Team. Invitations are based on the quality and consistency of a member's contribution to the community, rather than on a single points total. Members considered for the program will usually have: Been active in the SmartBear Community for around six months, or quickly established themselves as a consistently valuable contributor. Reached at least the Frequent Contributor rank. Built a meaningful body of participation - for example, around 50 discussions, replies and accepted solutions combined. Shown a positive, constructive approach and a genuine interest in helping other members. Followed the SmartBear Community Terms of Service and contributed in a way that supports a welcoming community. These are guidelines rather than a strict checklist. The Community Team may also invite members whose contribution stands out in other ways, including technical expertise, advocacy, helpfulness, or support for a specific product community. What Champion Contribution Looks Like Champion contribution can take different forms. Examples include: Starting useful technical discussions. Posting thoughtful replies and practical solutions. Receiving kudos or accepted solutions for helpful contributions. Writing technical articles, guides or blogs. Sharing product knowledge and real-world experience. Helping other members feel welcome and supported. Taking part in feedback sessions, office hours or other Champion activities. Champion Levels The program has three Champion levels. Each level is intended to recognize continued contribution and involvement over time. Progression is reviewed periodically by the Community Team and considers the overall impact of a Champion's participation, rather than relying on one activity or metric alone. Staying Active in the Program Champion activity is reviewed periodically so the program continues to recognize people who are actively contributing and supporting the community. There is no expectation that Champions need to be active every week, and contribution will naturally vary over time. New Champions can be invited throughout the year following Community Team review. Rewards and Recognition Recognition is an important part of the program, but it is not intended to be the reason people contribute. The aim is to acknowledge the time, expertise and support Champions give to the community in ways that feel useful and meaningful. The Community Team is currently reviewing the rewards approach and will continue to develop it with input from Champions. This may include a mix of recognition, experiences and opportunities to collaborate with SmartBear teams, and occasional physical or digital rewards. More Opportunities to Get Involved The Champion program will continue to grow. Over time, the Community Team plans to create more regular ways for Champions to connect with each other and with SmartBear teams, including office hours, feedback sessions, product conversations, community content, events and other opportunities to contribute. Welcome to the SmartBear Community! At SmartBear, we are incredibly passionate about empowering people to find a priceless treasure - knowledge. We created this Community as a place for all SmartBear users to find answers using a peer-to-peer support channel, gain valuable insights from peers, collaborate, and innovate around SmartBear products. This Community unites the communities for all SmartBear products. Although the Community was designed with SmartBear users in mind, we welcome everyone interested in QA, DevOps, or API to join us. Here are the community guidelines for all SmartBear Community members to follow. Community Rules 1. Do not spam or self-promote on the forums This will be considered as an unsolicited advertisement. Your account will be permanently banned, and your posts will be deleted. 2. Do not cross-post questions Please do not post the same question to different forums. 3. One thread per one problem Please do not ask several questions in one thread. First of all, they may not be connected to each other. Besides, you will get replies faster if you separate them into different threads posted to the relevant forums. 4. Only one account per person is permitted There is no reason why you should have several accounts on the SmartBear Forum. 5. All posts should be in English The SmartBear team DOES know a few languages - German, Spanish - but you can't be sure the rest of the Community does. 6. Include as much information as you can when asking for help This may include logs, screenshots, videos, etc. 7. Do not post copyright-infringing material Do not propose/link to any site that contains warez/copyrighted software/materials that can be downloaded illegally. Your account will be temporarily banned, and your posts will be deleted. 8. Be polite Do not post insulting messages, links or images. 9. Remain respectful of other members Do not be rude and appreciate each reply given to your question by other Community members. 10. No politics, no religion, no soap boxes allowed Your account will be temporarily banned, and your posts will be deleted. Thread Resolution Guidelines To help keep our forums organized and valuable for future visitors, Community Champions and SmartBear staff may mark a response as the accepted solution if a thread shows no activity after 7 days and an answer appears to resolve the issue. If you return to your thread and feel that the marked response does not fully solve your problem, you are always welcome to unmark it as the solution and continue the conversation. Our goal is to ensure helpful content is easy to find, and your feedback plays an important role in that! SmartBear Employees You will notice the SmartBear logo next to some community members; these are SmartBear employees, and they will also have the rank of Staff. They are here to announce important news you may find interesting or to discuss a hot topic. Users who attempt to impersonate SmartBear employees will be permanently banned, and their posts will be deleted. Please note that we don't have the Support Team in the SmartBear Community. If you want to get their assistance, you will need to submit a support ticket - https://support.smartbear.com/ Community Champions You may also see members with the Community Champions rank. These are experienced, trusted users who go above and beyond in sharing their knowledge, helping others, and contributing to the SmartBear Community. Community Champions are not SmartBear employees. However, they have a deep understanding of our products and often provide insightful answers, helpful resources, and guidance. At times, they may also help by marking a response as a solution if a thread has gone inactive and a valid answer is present. Their goal is to support the community’s growth and keep the forums helpful and organized. To learn more about the Community Champions Program, visit the Community Champions Group.
