Re: Is there a way to clone an entire project in Ready!API 1.8.5?
The solution was to close Ready!API, go into each project, and change the "id" tag in the header of each project to be unique, then re-import each project. It is a work-around, but I am able to reload projects now.8 years agoPlace ReadyAPI QuestionsReadyAPI Questions6.9KViews2likes2CommentsRe: Is there a way to clone an entire project in Ready!API 1.8.5?
New problem: I wasn't getting the plus sign to open my other projects (they were grayed out on the left). I think I figured out why. Now when I open *any* other project, I always get the same one. I think it's not separating my projects any longer. This is a show-stopper. I cannot use this product as is. Someone *must* contact me with a resolution immediately.8 years agoPlace ReadyAPI QuestionsReadyAPI Questions3.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Is there a way to clone an entire project in Ready!API 1.8.5?
I need to have multiple copies of a *similar* project, because each customer of mine is separate, and I have to send the SOAP solution to them to assist them with their project. This functionality worked in 1.8.0 (again!). Please either fix this to how it was, or tell me how I can get back to version 1.8.0. This is causing me to not proceed with my work, Someone either call me (my contact number is on file), or give me guidance on a work-around ASAP. More to add to the issue: I have several other projects that are similar in nature. Ready!API is not showing me the "+" sign to open the other projects, and thinks that I need to "unpack" them from somewhere else. This is a new behavior since upgrading to 1.8.5. Can I go back to 1.8.0 to restore the working functionality until you fix this release?8 years agoPlace ReadyAPI QuestionsReadyAPI Questions6.8KViews0likes4CommentsRe: Is there a way to clone an entire project in Ready!API 1.8.5?
I don't know what you're asking, that I haven't explained already in the steps that I took. I copied a project's XML file to a new folder, renamed it, changed the project name inside of the XML, but I cannot open it as a new/separate project. This used to work in 1.8.0, but since upgrading to 1.8.5, it still attempts to update the original project, and will not let me treat it as a new/separate project.8 years agoPlace ReadyAPI QuestionsReadyAPI Questions6.9KViews0likes8CommentsRe: Is there a way to clone an entire project in Ready!API 1.8.5?
The issue is that the only options that I get are to re-open the original project, or update the original project, neither of which I want to do. I want to open a new/separate project, with a new name (which I edited in the new project's XML file).8 years agoPlace ReadyAPI QuestionsReadyAPI Questions6.9KViews0likes11CommentsIs there a way to clone an entire project in Ready!API 1.8.5?
I often work with customers that have a similar setup (they all use the same methods, and endpoints that don't change). I'd like to be able to copy the XML file for the project, rename it, change the name inside the project, and Import it as a new project, so that I don't have to create an entire new file. This used to work in version 1.8.0, but since upgrading to 1.8.5, it identifies the new XML file as an existing project, with only options to open the original project (which doesn't help me), or import it again, whichwould change my other customer's data - which I don't want to do. Any assistance would be appreciated.Solved8 years agoPlace ReadyAPI QuestionsReadyAPI Questions7.8KViews0likes16Comments
