Re: Imported requirements are not showing up. This is an old issue but the solution is not working
This isn't exactly what you are looking for but you could try this method of linking to make your life a little easier. In the Requirements tab, create a filter to display all requirements with a particular import ID. Go to theReleases tab. Make sure that your desired release is displayed on the listing display. For this release, select the Link Items icon. (This is at the beginning of the line; it is one of the icons in the Actions column.) You should be on the "Show Releases" page. At the top of the display, in the dropdown for "Linkages To:", select Requirements. In the right column, select the filter that you just created. This should display the requirements that you imported. Drag and drop these requirements to the left.1.7KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Update / modernize the UI: Reports and Dashboards
I know that ALMComplete allows us to make custom dashboards and reports. That being said, most of us do not have the security clearance to do that. This is an area where we need a MAJOR improvement. Get rid of Crystal Reports! Tools that have a learning curve or require SQL knowledge leave many people behind. We don’t have that kind of time. A simple way of creating reports and dashboards is needed!18KViews14likes7CommentsCall shared steps within a test and at execution, include the detail of the shared steps.
We need a method by which a step or series of steps can be written once and called from multiple tests. For example, I want to write a login procedure and then call it from other tests. Specifically, I want to have a test step something like “Call ‘Login’”. At execution, this step would be replaced by the steps in the test called “Login”. I do not want to copy the steps (as we do now), because then I have to maintain those steps in many places.17KViews14likes10CommentsMake indication of passed and failed in the listing display more emphatic
In the listing display for the test library and for test sets, a last run status of passed displays in green and a last run status of failed displays in red. It would be helpful if this were more emphatic, such as a green bar and a red bar and possibly a black bar for not run. As it is, it is understated and we really want this to jump out at us.1.8KViews1like0CommentsStreamline the test runner when a test is executed from the Test Library
To run one test from the Test Library, there is currently a lot of unnecessary clicking. It would be very helpful if unneeded test runnersteps were removed when an individual test is being executed rather than a test set. For example, in the Test Library, I click on the Run Now icon, select the release and then have to click the Run Test icon again. As there is only one test, why not display step one after the release is selected? There is an icon for “Next Test”. As this is not a run of a test set, there is no next test, so that icon should not display. If I click “Pass All Steps” or “Fail All Steps”, that should be the end of the test. Instead, I click “End Run” and I have to click to pass again. This may seem minor, but lots of clicking becomes very burdensome when we have many, many tests and not a lot of time.2.8KViews1like1CommentAdd Releases tab in the Test Library
In the Test Library, I can display all tests linked to a release or not linked to a release by using a filter. This is not intuitive to many of our testers. To be consistent with the other entities in the system, it would be helpful to have a Releases tab in the navigation pane on the left before the Folders tab as is the case for Test Sets.3.5KViews4likes1CommentLast run status on the test set listing should be appropriate for the release selected.
Let’s say that I have two releases, Alpha and Beta. I run my tests sets for the Alpha release and all test sets pass. I have not executed any test sets for the Beta release yet. In the navigation pane on the left, I select the release Alpha and choose last run status as one of the fields to display on the test set listing. All test sets show as being passed. So far so good. Now I switch the release in the navigation pane to Beta and the last run status column still shows all test sets as being passed. This is very confusing, as no test set has been run yet for the Beta release. The last run status should show “not run” or nothing, but not “passed” or “failed”. Now I execute all test sets for the Beta release and they all fail. In the navigation column on the left, I select the Alpha release. The last run status for all tests shows as failed, which is not appropriate for the Alpha release. This can be very confusing. It would be VERY helpful if the software could look at the run history records and determine the last run status that is appropriate for the release selected. This same issue exists on the test library dashboard chart called “Tests by Last Run Status (Current Project)”.3.1KViews9likes2Comments- 10 years agoPlace QAComplete QuestionsQAComplete Questions1.2KViews0likes0Comments
Re: QAComplete New User Feedback Requested
I would like to answer your question in great detail, but I feel, for professional reasons, I should not do that. I would, though, strongly encourage you to use the product to build a prototype that includes several releases. In the process, attempt to answer the following questions: 1. Can you easily display relevant statistics for the current release AND past releases? 2. Can you easily answer the question “how many tests are yet to be run for the current release”? 3. How easily can you create a new report? 4. Are you pleased with the existing reports? 5. If a test is run multiple times within one release, how is that reflected in charts and reports? 6. How easily can you create a new dashboard chart? 7. Do you need to share assets between projects and if so, are you satisfied with how this is done within QAComplete? 8. Do you need to share steps among tests and are you satisfied with the ALMComplete solution for this? In conclusion, the most important thing is that the product works for your company’s needs and I feel that only by creating a good prototype, will you understand how the system works.10 years agoPlace QAComplete QuestionsQAComplete Questions793Views1like0Comments
