It encourages people that are behind to just click an email to eliminate them from doing the work they should be completing. use regedit to validate comment/defect (other) entries Request Summary: We have a requirement to provide a pre-amble to each comment/defect. These portion markings are required for us. The limited ability to edit comments coupled with the re-work required to correct missing markings limit our ability to meet our needs. Request Criticality: High Estimated Savings: This is a product quality need for us. This saves 3 to 5 minutes per comment (not thread) that is missed (approximately 20-30% of comments). Training has limited success as there are limited situations where this applies. Request Details: As a reviewer, I would like to be able to configure the system with a RegEdit expression to validate the existence of a substring within a comment. Ideally, if a RegEdit expression could be associated with any text entry it would be great. Business Justification: Business and/or customer processes are not being met due to the inability to monitor and correct non-compliance. Specific Implementation Requests: If a RegEdit string can be associated with ‘text entry’ field(s) (at least comments currently) that the system can use to validate entry string PRIOR to accepting the comment. Define RegEdit string Associated RegEdit string with the comment (or other field) When a user enters a comment, the RegEdit string will validate the string, if the test is invalid the comment will stay in an active edit mode until successful validation of the RegEdit string. Error indication would be helpful Re: Users logged out of web interface too soon we have this version, and the only way collaborator (by itself) will log anyone out is if they close all of their browser windows related to collaborator. I suspect your IT area has instituted a method to log individuals out, or to remove cache data from your browsers. Re: Collaborator insists on downloading .docx files in a review. from your description, the .doc file is defined as a 'binary file type' under the admin settings related to File Types. When an extension is specified in this area, collaborator does not attempt to interpret the file/contents, it will automatically initiate a download of the file for the user to have access to the file for validation. In our instance, we do this for zip files and such. You can remove the .docx settings (or request your admin too) and then collaborator will convert the file and present it as you expect . Re: Downloading documents 'with pins in them' https://support.smartbear.com/collaborator/docs/working-with/misc-tasks/archive-reviews.html this provides the method and includes the pins Configure Mandatory Project Assignment A configuration item should be added to force the selection of a project to associate a review with. this would allow the administrator to force a project selection prior to inspection phase. Re: Git Repository Name on review with multiple git repository. agree with all the comments, would add that this is also an issue with other config tools that are based in a distributed system (like Hg - Mercurial) Re: How does a participant indicate they are finished with the current phase? No problem! The vagueness is probably driven because the configuration of the tool can vary what is required to advance a review (so customer specific). There are ways that a participant can mark a review, file, or discussion thread as accepted that does not advance the review and can be used to inform other users of individuals progress. Depending on your specific process and configuration, this type of action can also be used.
