Increment testcase version using rest api

Hello,

I have set of testcases for which I am creating test cycle. Now in case of requirement change I have to update most of cases with minor changes which currently I am able to do using rest api for bulk changes, but as testcase version is same, these changes are getting reflected in old test cycles. Is there any way to update testcase version using rest api?

Archiving and Creating complete new case will not help as we need history of changes to be tracked.

With GET testcase command I am getting testcase version in the field "majorversion" but this field is not supported for PUT command. Any suggestions or help in this regard is much appreciated.
