Re: How can I write custom checkpoints in script
I see from this link that I could just do an if statement with a Log.message / Log.Error https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/testing-with/checkpoints/property/properties.html This could possibly work, but I was hoping to keep the log more consisent with the other property checkpoints. By that, I mean I would like the log to show it as a checkpoint with a green check next to it instead of just a message.1.7KViews0likes1CommentHow can I write custom checkpoints in script
Hello, Is there a way to write more customizable checkpoint properties. Instead of something like: aqObject.CheckProperty(WPF_Control,"Text",cmpEqual,"Some Text") - This is simply what you would get by manually recording a test, verifying a control has some certain text and then converting this keyword test to a script. I would like get a property from a control and perform some action on it, then create a new checkpoint based off this. A contrived example would maybe be to get the value from a textfield and then see if it is divisible by 5. If it is then have a checkpoint that says it passed and if not have the checkpoint fail. Does anyone know how to do this in TestComplete?Solved1.7KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Is there a way to search for a WPF control or window by its text
TestComplete recognized the control when it was made as a "popup" control. ie new system.windows.control.popup() When an actual "tooltip" was made ie new system.windows.control.tooltip() - TC could not at all recognize that that entity existed on the screen. I've had other controls that it could recognize on the screen and just could not recognize that they were of type tooltip or get the properties from them. In this case, TC did not ever register that there was some kind of entity appearing on the screen. Even though there was a tooltip on the screen.3KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Is there a way to search for a WPF control or window by its text
I figured it out.. I think. It looks like my development team was implimenting the tooltip incorrectly. They were instantiating a tooltip without actually tieing it to be a control's property. I'm not sure why TC could not recognize this tooltip beforehand, but it is able to read it after it gets tied to a control.3KViews1like5CommentsRe: Is there a way to search for a WPF control or window by its text
There is a placement property of the tooltip where youcan tie the tooltip to be next to a control. This is what the dev team has, but it seems to be different than making it a property of a specific control. I'm assuming its a windowless control because if I change the code from "tooltip" to "popup", TC can put a red box around the popup and recognize it no problem. Unfortunately, my team wants it to be a tooltip and not a popup. The textbox that it is "tied" does notgive any informationabout the 'tooltip' or 'tooltipproperty' when I try to acess them.3KViews0likes7CommentsRe: Is there a way to search for a WPF control or window by its text
Hi,tristaanogre. Thanks for the reply. Yes he did suggest that here.https://community.smartbear.com/t5/TestComplete-General-Discussions/Object-Browser-shows-grey-boxes-for-some-parts-of-application/m-p/172068#M31921 As I said in that post, I did go talk to them and I saw the code. The code just creates a new tooltip object. It looks something like this: public System.Windows.Controls.ToolTip m_popup = new System.Windows.Controls.ToolTip(); So, it creates a new tooltip object. Even with this information I can't seem to figure it out.3KViews0likes9CommentsIs there a way to search for a WPF control or window by its text
I can't identify my applications tooltips using the object browser, so I am wondering if there is a way that I can search the object browser for a text string matching the tooltip text to try and figure out how I can identify it in the future. Is there a simple way to do this?Solved3.3KViews0likes11CommentsRe: Object Browser shows grey boxes for some parts of application. Can't identify tooltips
In other applications, I have had TestComplete recognize the tooltip window but it was unable to obtain its text from it until I mapped the base class to a tooltip class. However, in this scenario, I can't even get TC to put a red rectangle around the window so that I can see information such wnd class that I need to map the object. I have talked to the developers and seen what they've done, but it doesn't give me a clue as to why TC doesn't at least acknowledge the tooltip is there and is some kind of window.1.6KViews0likes0Comments
