Beta release of SoapUI 5.2

I am happy to announce that there is a beta of SoapUI 5.2 available for testing.

You can download it here http://sourceforge.net/projects/soapui/files/soapui/5.2.0-beta/

I'd love to hear your feedback in this forum.

New features are: JSON based assertions and pre-installed Swagger, MQTT and UXM Plugins

SoapUI Open Source 5.2 beta appears similar to NG in look and feel, so people dont surprise if they get NG license unlike earlier.

Some of the things noticed where there can be some improvement.

Like the properties view at each level. But only thing is the icon is same as Test Steps of a Test Case, would be nice if icon is unique.

Noticed HermesJMS in Project, Tools menus (two times), not sure if it is intended.

Properties button on left bottom is always enable even if all the projects are closed. May be it would be nice if it is shown on context base.

Regards,
Rao.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes the look and feel tries to shrink the gap, will do more like that.

I am forwarding the suggestions to dev, not sure if all can get into 5.2, but definitely into 5.2.1 or 5.3

Thanks!

Hey I like the new release. The UI looks very smooth.

I have a question about the former Soap UI pro features, like the datasource teststep or the datasource loop.

Are these kind of steps available in the open source release e.g. will they be available in the future?

Regards,

Alex.

Hi Alex,

I'm glad that you like the new look!

All the Pro Test Steps like DataSource Test steps are still available in SoapUI NG Pro (part of the Ready! API platform).

We have no plans to add them to Open Source, we consider them as needed only when you use SoapUI professionally.

Best regards,

/Matti
