- SmartBear_SuppoSmartBear Alumni (Retired)Hi,
That mode is available only in certain cases where a paid subscription had first been in use:

SmartBear Support - SiKingCommunity ExpertThis is new starting in version 5? Does this apply to the SoapUI-Pro Maven plugin as well?
- SmartBear_SuppoSmartBear Alumni (Retired)Hi Siking,
This is new starting in version 5?
Yes.Does this apply to the SoapUI-Pro Maven plugin as well?
No, this does not apply to the SoapUI Pro maven plugin. This primarily occurs when starting the SoapUI Pro GUI without a license.

SmartBear Support - SteveMOccasional ContributorWhat about the test runner from the command line? I get the below error:
[exec] SOAPUI PRO LICENSE NOT FOUND
[exec] Please follow the instructions at
[exec] http://www.soapui.org/Licenses/license-not-found.html
[exec] on how to install a valid license
[exec] Shutting down...
Why would courtesy mode from the command line be removed? This will prevent me from executing my tests in CI. - SmartBear_SuppoSmartBear Alumni (Retired)Hello,
You need a SoapUI Pro license if you are running SoapUI Pro in a Continous Integration environment. Please see our FAQ below:

Hi,
Is the courtesy mode available in ReadyAPI?
Or do you want to have different licenses for running the tests from testrunner?
Thanks.
- SiKingCommunity ExpertThis makes SoapUI-Pro significantly more expensive now! It used to be that I needed a license just to create/edit tests. Now I need a license for every machine that also runs tests?
- redfish4ktc2Super ContributorHi SiKing,
the license terms have changed on Summer 2013 (see https://github.com/redfish4ktc/maven-so ... l-concerns to get links to related topics in the forum).
Technical restrictions have been added in the recent releases
Anyway, I totally agree with SiKing - redfish4ktc2Super ContributorAnonymous Support
I have the folowing 3 questions
You previously answered to Siking questionDoes this apply to the SoapUI-Pro Maven plugin as well?
No, this does not apply to the SoapUI Pro maven plugin
This is the current behaviour but do you plan in the future to also add the license check to the SoapUI-Pro Maven plugin as well?
About the "courtesy mode" currently implemented, I have noticed a behaviour difference between the GUI and the test runner from the command line:- GUI: Pro-specific TestSteps (DataSource, DataSink, etc.) are still executed as part of a TestCase execution but can’t be created or modified in your tests(source: http://www.soapui.org/Getting-Started/i ... rtesy-mode)
- CLI: no test cannot be runned
And I guess starting the cli test runner from the GUI also prevent tests to be runned!
So my question is: do you plan to remove such a limitation in the future?
About the license for CI server
AFAIK, the license installation/activation is performed using a GUI. How can this be managed in environment such Linux without X11 where no GUI can be started?
This means that for now, you prevent pro users to run tests in that kind of environment. See viewtopic.php?f=13&t=25075
Do you have any workaround to mitigate the issue?
To conclude, you may have noticed that I am not a fan of such technical limitations especially in CI environments. I agree that you can make that kind of choice to save your business or for any other reasons. But in that case, I would like to have a clear warning/explanation along with the release notes/changelog to avoid misunderstandings.
Thanks in advance for your answers
Thomas - SiKingCommunity ExpertI just stopped upgrading at version 4.6.4. There are actually unresolved bugs in SoapUI, and to verify my entire current test suite I also need version 4.5.1.
- redfish4ktc2Super ContributorHi SmartBear Support,
any chance to get an answer to my previous question?
Thanks
