Composite project - project path inconsistency

Hi,

I use Ready API 1.6. Please check the following steps:

  1. Create a composite project with a test suite and a test case
  2. Save the project => the created project folder has “.xml” ending. There is no way to save the project without this ending. The “File” property of the project is correct, it has the “xml” ending
  3. Close the Ready API
  4. Reopen Ready API
  5. Check the “File” property of the project – it does not contain the “xml” ending
  6. Save the project => a new project folder is created, so it is duplicated in the folder

I would like to store the project in SVN, but this behaviour leads to inconsistency. Is this a known bug? What could be the solution?

Best regards,

Norbert

Hi Karbert,

I cannot reproduce this behavior on my computer. I suggest that you refer this question to our Support Team to investigate it.

Hi Tanya,

I've already contacted the support team, waiting for their response.

FYI: I've prepared a video about the issue, please find attached. It is reproducible in 1.6.0 and the maintenance build downloaded yesterday.

Regards,

Norbert

Hi Norbert,

Thanks for sending the case and for the video.

I’ve mentioned that you saved the project only after adding several test cases. Please try the following:

  1. Create a project
  2. Set the Composite project option to True
  3. Save the project
  4. Add test cases
  5. Save the project

Do you see the same behavior with the folder name?

Hi,

Yep, the same behaviour. But please note, you have to do some more steps to reproduce the issue. So please continue after your steps with the followings:

6. Close the application. Exit from the ReadyAPI

7. Restart the application (ReadyAPI)

8. Save the project again.

Thanks for checking this. As I said, I cannot reproduce this one my computer. The folder has a normal name in my case – without xml. I hope that the Support Team will help you resolve this issue.
