QA Complete - CSV Export encoding ?

Hi everyone,

We started to use QA Complete in our company to replace our old tool for bug reporting (and also for all the others features). I'm currently developping a tool to make charts and statistics from the content of our old reporting tool, and our stats tool will have to take also in charge the database from QA.

My problem here is that we use CSV exported files to get our data for the tool but since we're french we use accents on some character that mess up with the export from QA Complete. The special characters end up like this one : "à" and since our separators are ";" the data in column and row are not corrects.

So my question here is : Does anyone know what is the encoding used in CSV Export from QA Complete ? Can we change that encoding from QA complete in an option ?

TL;DR : CSV export messed up, what's the encoding used for those exports ?

  • I've tried a variety of CSV exports of tests with accented characters in the title, description, and test steps.  All seem to properly create a file of comma-separated values (with text enclosed in double quotes).

What are you trying to export?
