I wholehearted agree. It's definitely more "bling" than practical.
I'm taking the liberty of piggyback riding this, with some additional requests, as the topic is this specific window:
- Allow selection of multiple properties in test case/step , such that clicking Add generates multiple variables.
- Automatically place the cursor in the search box, such that mouse movement and clicks are minimized.
- Pressing tab, while the cursor is in the search box should move focus to the select options below. Pressing tab again could move the cursor to the next search box.
Please let me know, if these should be part of a separate feature requests
