Uploading Changes to Test Cases

Is there a way to import changes only (e.g. Comments, Test Data etc.) to existing test cases using the Import Test Case functionality in Zephyr Squad for Jira?

  • Yes, it is possible to import changes (e.g. comments, test data, etc.) to existing test cases using the Import Test Case functionality in Zephyr Squad for Jira. Here is how you can do this:

    1. Create an Excel or CSV file containing the changes that you want to make to your existing test cases. The file should contain the test case key (ID) for each test case, as well as the fields that you want to update.

    2. In Zephyr Squad for Jira, go to the Test Cases tab and click the "Import" button.

    3. Select the "Import Test Cases" option and choose the Excel or CSV file that you created in step 1.

    4. In the Import Test Cases wizard, select the "Update Existing Test Cases" option. This will cause the import process to update the existing test cases with the data from the file, rather than creating new test cases.

    5. Follow the prompts in the Import Test Cases wizard to complete the import process.

Keep in mind that the Import Test Case functionality only allows you to update certain fields in existing test cases. If you want to update other fields or make more complex changes to your test cases, you may need to use another method, such as the REST API or a script.

Hi! I am having the same issue, but I can't see the option to Update existing test cases. Is it required to have specific privileges?

      THanks!
