This seems like it would solve a lot of problems. If the groovy scripts you write can support grabbing dependencies from a maven repository out of the box, test developers won't have to worry about telling testers to "move these jars to your bin/ext/ directory".

I think this is a really good point!
I was in the process of blogging about using Grapes via SoapUI by manually adding the ivy jar, but it does make sense to permanently add the ivy jar as part of the standard distribution.
Maybe you would consider adding it to the list of current feature requests?
