I got it to work by uncommenting the following line in the soapui.bat file:
set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Dsoapui.jxbrowser.disable="true"
I have to run the tool by executing the soapui.bat file and not the .exe.
So far so good....
